Appointments

What can I expect?

During your first appointment, the physio will ask a few questions regarding your condition and medical history. This will be followed by a thorough assessment to determine the likely cause of your problem and how this is related to your symptoms. They will then decide on the best course of treatment and begin treating you there and then. Typically, an initial Assessment will last between 45 minutes and an hour. For more information on the types of treatment that might be used, read our Physiotherapy page.

What happens next?

The physio will give advice on how to manage your condition or any pain you are experiencing. Often they will recommend specific exercises to do at home to help maintain mobility and improve muscle balance. If you need further treatments, the physio will recommend a follow up visit at a convenient time for you. A follow up visit lasts 30 minutes during which the physio will briefly reassess your condition and progress, and will then continue with the course of treatment.

How can I make an appointment?

Simply ring our reception on 0114 2749542 to book an appointment. Don’t worry if this is outside of normal working hours, in which case the call will be diverted to one of our physiotherapists. If they are unable to take your call, you can leave a message and they will return your call as soon as possible.

"In these hectic times, it is often difficult to fit appointments round our busy schedules.
For this reason we offer some appointments as early as 8:00am and as late as 8:30pm to help make life easier"
