Frequently Asked Questions
Are all staff qualified?
All staff are qualified chartered physiotherapists and registered with the UK Health Professions Council.
Do I need a Doctor’s referral?
If you are intending to fund your own treatment, it is not usually necessary to have seen a doctor prior to coming for physiotherapy treatment. We may however ask you to see your GP if we believe that you need further tests or other specialist services. Please be aware that some medical insurance companies (such as Westfield) will expect you to have seen your GP before coming to us, if your intention is to claim your treatment costs. If in doubt, please check with your insurance provider.
What conditions do you treat?
We treat a vast range of conditions including:- back and neck pain; joint pain and stiffness; referred leg, groin or arm pain; soft tissue injuries; sports injuries; repetitive strain injuries; whiplash and work related injuries; arthritic conditions; inflammatory conditions; and much more. We can help with pain during and after pregnancy and can offer treatment for acute and chronic pain conditions. >>more>>
Our therapeutic massage service can also help to relieve stress, tension, muscle pain and headaches >>more>>
Are you registered with Westfield?
Yes, all our staff are recognised by Westfield. We are also registered with BUPA, AXA PPP Healthcare, HSA, Standard Life, Norwich Union, BCWA and all other leading health insurers.
Will physiotherapy help?
This can only be answered after a detailed assessment by the physiotherapist. In the majority of cases we can help, however, if we do not think we can help, we will inform you and if necessary refer you to your GP or an alternative health care professional.
I have had treatment before and it has not worked. Why are you different?
We specialise in long-standing (chronic) problems that remain resistant to treatment. Physiotherapy is a medically based profession backed by science based clinical research. We use our extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology, diagnostic skills, clinical judgement and evidence based treatment techniques to not only alleviate your symptoms, but also to identify and tackle the root cause of your problem, thereby helping to reduce the risk of the problem recurring. We use the latest manual therapy and electrical treatment techniques and take part in regular post-graduate training to keep abreast of the latest advances in treatment.
How can I pay?
The clinic accepts payment by all major credit/debit cards, cash or cheques (with a cheque guarantee card). If you have health insurance or are referred through a medico-legal company, we can in most cases invoice the company directly.
Can I easily change my appointment if I need to?
Yes. All we ask is that you give us a minimum of 24 hours notice of any change to your appointment time, otherwise you may incur a cancellation fee. We do not charge a fee if you are sick or you have a family emergency, so long as you tell us as soon as reasonably possible (if phoning outside of normal working hours then please leave a message and a member of staff will pick this up first thing in the morning).
Can I park at the clinic?
Yes, we have private off-road parking at the clinic.
When is your clinic open?
The clinic is open Monday to Saturday. We offer early morning and late evening appointments (from 8:00 am to as late as 8:30 pm). Please contact our reception for available times.
