appointments

What can I expect?

During your first appointment, the physiotherapist will ask you a few questions regarding your condition and medical history. This will be followed by a thorough assessment to determine the likely cause of your problem and how this is related to your symptoms. They will then decide on the best course of treatment and with your consent will begin treating you there and then. Typically, an initial Assessment will last between 45 minutes and an hour. For more information on the types of treatment that might be used, read our Physiotherapy page

What happens next?

Typically, a follow up visit lasts 30 minutes during which the physio will briefly reassess your condition and progress, and will then continue with the course of treatment, adapting the treatment as required. Note that we need to allow a little longer for women’s health appointments. In all cases, we allow an additional 10 minutes between appointments so that we are better able to keep to time, which ensures that you get the maximum treatment time and you should never feel rushed
