Below are the governing bodies, professional networks and clinical interest groups with which the clinic or members of the team are currently registered with:-
Health Professions Council (HPC)
All physiotherapists and podiatrists need to be registered with the Health Professions Council in order to practice. The HPC has very strict rules on qualifications and ongoing professional development (CPD) to ensure that health professionals meet the standards expected and are fit to practice.
Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
The CSP is a member led organisation of chartered physiotherapists, working to maintain standards of the profession, supporting it's members and promoting physiotherapy within the healthcare system.
Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP)
The Association represents those physiotherapists who are interested in integrating acupuncture into mainstream physiotherapy for the management of pain and systemic conditions. The AACP places strict requirements on Continued Professional Development (CPD) to ensure the quality of treatment by its members.
Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Women’s Health (ACPWH)
This organisation represents the professional interests of physiotherapists working in this area, whilst at the same time helping to improve specialist therapeutic skills and promoting the role of physiotherapy in women's health.
Organisation of Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice (OCPPP / PhysioFirst)
Physio First is the Organisation which represents Physiotherapists in private practice with the aim to promote the highest standards of clinical physiotherapy practice and to deliver professional and business support for its members.
Association of Physiotherapists in Parkinson’s Disease: Europe (APPDE)
The APPDE is an association for physiotherapists, other professionals, people with Parkinson’s and their carers. The association promotes best practice and encourages/initiates research into the treatment of Parkinson's Disease.
Chartered Physiotherapists working with Older People (AGILE)
AGILE is a Professional Network of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and is for therapists working with older people - whether qualified physiotherapists, assistants, students or associate members of an allied profession.
Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology (ACPIN)
ACPIN is one of the largest Clinical Interest Groups recognised by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. It is concerned with all aspects of physiotherapy related to the needs of neurologically impaired adults and their relatives and carers.
Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists (SCP)
The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists (SCP) is the Professional Body and Trade Union for registered podiatrists. The Society represents around 10,000 private practitioners, NHS podiatrists and students.
Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT)
The Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) is the largest professional association for therapists in the UK and Ireland, with specialisms from sports and remedial therapies, to complementary healthcare and holistic beauty treatments.
British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
The British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) is a membership organisation and a registered charity that sets standards for therapeutic practice and provides information for therapists, clients of therapy, and the general public. BACP aim to increase public understanding of the benefits of counselling and psychotherapy, raise awareness of what can be expected from the process of therapy and promote education and/or training for counsellors and psychotherapists.
