Ankle and Foot / Podiatry
Stability of the foot is fundamental to the way we move, affecting not just the foot but the ankle, knee, lower leg and even the lower back. During walking, running or recreational sports activities, the foot has to cope with forces that can produce changes in supporting structures including the bones, joints and soft tissues of the limb. Over time these changes can prove to be damaging and ultimately cause pain and deformity.
Common problems of the lower leg, ankle and foot:-
plantar fasciitis • bunions • toe deformities • high arched/flat feet •
shin splints • leg fracture • sprained ankle • broken ankle •
dislocated ankle • achilles tendonosis • ruptured achilles tendon
Elbow and Hand
Flexibility and strength in our hands is vital for performing even the most basic everyday tasks. The elbow is another quite complex joint that needs to both bend and twist to function properly
Common problems of the elbow and hand:-
tennis elbow • golfer's elbow • sprained wrist • carpal tunnel syndrome
broken wrist • arthritis of the hands • dislocated finger

torn achilles tendon • hamstring strain • muscle strain • muscle tear •
tennis/golfer's elbow • sprained wrist • rotator cuff tear • shin splints •

Post-operative Recovery
To help facilitate recovery from surgery or trauma, physiotherapists can prescribe specific rehabilitation exercises, which will help to improve posture, strengthen weak muscles and improve flexibility to stiff joints.
Common conditions include:-
fractures • total hip replacement • total knee replacement •
cruciate ligamant repair • achilles tendon repair • shoulder replacement •
subacromial decompression • rotator cuff repair • laminectomy/discectomy •
spinal decompression
Acupuncture
Within the scope of physiotherapy, acupuncture can prove very useful in helping to relieve pain, either in conjunction with or in place of other manual therapies.

acute or chronic pain • headaches/migraines
Ante/Post Natal Pain
Most women experience some degree of pain during pregnancy leading up to the delivery itself. For most, this is manageable and entirely normal, but some women can experience significant pain in their pelvis, lower back and stomach muscles as their baby grows. The causes can vary but in many cases these conditions are treatable and a physiotherapist can help to manage the pain.
Common conditions during pregnancy:-
lower back pain • pelvic girdle pain (symphysis pubis dysfunction) •
separation of the stomach muscles (diastasis recti)
